The Hong Kong segment consists of retail banking and wealth and commercial banking of HSBC Hong Kong and Hang Seng Bank. The UK segment covers UK personal banking and commercial banking, including HSBC Innovation Bank. The CIB segment was formed from the integration of the commercial banking business outside the UK and Hong Kong with the global banking and markets business. The IWPB segment refers to premier banking outside of Hong Kong and the UK, the Private Bank, and wealth manufacturing businesses of asset management and insurance. The Corporate Centre segment is involved in central treasury, including balance sheet management, other legacy businesses, interests in associates and joint ventures, central stewardship costs, and the UK bank levy. The company was founded on January 1, 1959 and is headquartered in London, the United Kingdom.
