Yes there are alerts, but if you are automating a strategy, you might want to know NOT to alert a different alert when coming OUT of one.

We do have an alert for Halts and Resumes:

 v_up_5 == v_up_1

That would result in a 1 if the current 5 minute volume is equal to the current 1 minute volume.  I have found it works about 90% of the time in finding stocks coming out of a halt, which are tricky to trade (especially automated).

This can also weed out stocks trading very thin, once again tricky to trade (especially automated).

You can write a formula, something like this:

 v_up_10 - v_up_1

Which would give a negative number if the 1 minute volume is larger than the 10 minute.

Or

v_up_10*10 < v_up_1

Which would result in a 1 if the 1 minute is 10X greater than the 10.

I am not 100% sure if the current 1 minute volume is included in the current 10 minute volume, you would need to test that.

I have been wondering about this as well. Since higher lows is a hallmark of an upward trend, it would seem important to detect such a pattern if possible.

I need help! / Re: External linking to TC2000 doesn't work stably

Hi .. I had no problem linking with TC2000 Version 17.0.6435.29524.  I used our External Linking Tool, Add Link and then positioned the mouse pointer in a TC2000 chart and followed the linking instructions - I did not have to use an Alternative Method.

Cheers

Odd. I restarted the application and now things seem to be working again. Not sure what happened there.

Thanks for the tip,

Hi D,

Servers are operating as usual.
History available too.

Try a connection reset, application restart, or computer reboot if possible.

Formula Editor / 1 minute volume spike relative to the past 10 minutes...
« Last post by DavideBianchini on November 10, 2017, 04:35:04 am »
I'm looking for a way to detect a single one-bar volume spike, in relation to a low volume in the previous bars leading up to it (see graphic below). I tried the "Volume Spike" search filter, but it doesn't seem to apply here, since it looks at historical data. I only want to look at data over the past 10 minutes. In other words, the volume would look like this;

                                                  +
                                                  +
                                                  +
                                                  +
+++++++ +++++++    +++++++++++   +++++++
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Any ideas how I can search for this kind of a volume spike?

Thanks,

Davide

I would like to know the answer to this question as well. I've found the squeeze indicator to be helpful in determining volatility. Although, I suppose you could achieve almost the same results by using the Consolidation search filter included with Trade Ideas.
