Time Window for Alerts
« on: March 13, 2012, 07:03:59 AM »
Is there a way to set an alert window to show alerts only during a certain time?

Thanks.

Not as such.  You can look at History for a specific, given time.  You can also backtest given a specific time window of the day.  As for real-time, you are encouraged to minimize the window until such time that you want to start looking at it.

Can't you do it with formulas?  Something like this:

if ((seconds_after_open/60) >60 &&  (seconds_after_open/60) <120,1)??0

Should show a 1 for 10:30 to 11:30 and a zero otherwise?

Stern, you just blew my mind! Yes, I'll try that. Main reason for this request is because I have sounds associated with each alert... and the sounds don't shut off if I minimize the alert.... so I have to do it manually...

Impressive, sir.  Damn impressive.

Let me know if this works for you.  We may have an employee of the month premier parking spot at our San Diego data center for Stern!!

Thank you for contributing.

Just wanted to give feedback that this works very well. I double checked it: ran OM with a narrow time window, then without any OM time window but with Stern's alert time window... and both results were identical.
